Mary and Jim Henderson
“DePelchin takes care of one of the most vulnerable populations that we have in our society—that’s kids in foster care,” shares longtime DePelchin Board member Jim Henderson.
Jim has long held a passion for working with youth—it’s that dedication to the well-being of children that propels his support of DePelchin’s mission.

Jim first became involved with DePelchin around 20 years ago when a longtime friend asked him to serve initially on DePelchin’s Board and currently on DePelchin’s Foundation Board and Trust. He says that the opportunity has allowed him to see first-hand the lasting impact DePelchin has on the lives of countless children and families.
Jim’s background also includes the many years he served on multiple nonprofit boards, all while pursuing a successful 30-year career in healthcare administration. Now, he wants to augment his ongoing support of DePelchin with a bequest that will last beyond his lifetime.
“I know just how great the organization is and what it accomplishes through its mission,” he says.
With that in mind, Jim and his wife, Mary, extended their support even further with a gift to DePelchin through a dedicated percentage of their IRAs.
“A good source for your opportunity to help those future generations is through DePelchin Children’s Center,” Jim says. “And a legacy gift will go a long way to do that.”
